The Genityte™ procedure is similar to an annual female examination at your Gynecologist’s office and is performed by a Doctor or a Nurse specializing in Gynecology or Urology. You will begin with a review of the procedure, discuss what you desire from your Genityte™ treatment and sign a consent form.
Is Genityte™ performed by anyone other than a Medical Doctor?
No. Only a licensed Genityte™ provider who is a Physician or a specialized Nurse in the medical specialty of gynecology or urology is qualified to perform Genityte™.
What are the risks of the Genityte™ procedure?
No risks have been identified after hundreds of successful Genityte™ procedures. Women need to be cautious of any medical provider who has not been licensed and trained specifically to perform Genityte™. What is the non-invasive technology used to perform Genityte™?
Deep Dermal Heating technology has been in use since the year 2000. Both the technology and the techniques have advanced over the years to give patients maximal benefits with minimal discomfort. Deep Dermal Heating improves laxity of the skin through a natural process called “neocollagenesis” or “new collagen formation”. Medical studies have shown some immediate tightening of skin as well as some ongoing skin tightening from new collagen being formed. New collagen formation continues for an average of 3 months after a single Genityte™ treatment.
Is there pain during a Genityte™ procedure or after a Genityte™ procedure?
Patients do not describe pain, redness or discomfort during Genityte™ or after Genityte™.
How long is a Genityte™ procedure?
A one hour appointment is scheduled for each Genityte™. The Genityte™ procedure itself usually takes about 30 minutes.
What does a Genityte™ procedure cost?
Advanced Laser Center’s 2009 Introductory Pricing for Genityte™ is $1,000 for one treatment.
How soon will I see Results from Genityte™ and how many Genityte™ procedures will I need?
Improvement of Stress Urinary Incontinence varies, depending upon the amount of laxity a woman has and upon the woman’s age. In general, with aging and with each pregnancy, laxity gets worse. A woman in her twenties may require only one treatment and a woman in her eighties may require more than six treatments. The average woman with moderate to severe stress urinary incontinence requires three treatments.
How do I prepare for a Genityte™ procedure?
Before your appointment, please shave or trim with an electric clipper all of the hair below the pubic bone. If you have a history of genital herpes, you need to take a preventative dose of anti-herpes medication the night before treatment and the morning of treatment, as prescribed by your doctor. This is because gentle heating of the skin in the genital area can cause a recurrent herpes outbreak in women who have genital herpes.
Is the Genityte™ procedure covered by health insurance?
At this time the Genityte™ procedure is not covered by health insurance. However, more studies are underway which will help substantiate health insurance covering the Genityte™ procedure.

Photographs taken before the Genityte™ procedure and immediately after the Genityte™ procedure are helpful for you to visualize your results and are part of your confidential health record.
